Our Story
This fraternity will be different. This was the goal that was laid forth by Sigma Phi Epsilon’s fathers at Richmond College in 1901. Here at Missouri Eta, we have taken those words and not only ran with them, but injected them into our veins. We believe in building balanced men that live by our cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Our men allow our two pillars: Sound Mind and Sound Body, to guide their daily decisions in mental and physical health.

Our brothers, alumni and current, challenge each other day in and day out to better themselves and the chapter through numerous endeavors such as: our award winning development program, our top-ranked intramural teams, our countless leadership opportunities, and an equal rights brotherhood that takes pride in leading our community into a new age of Greek life. From the point of inception, our new members become initiated as full and equal rights brothers. We are a non-pledging brotherhood that aims to maximize the 90% of the collegiate experience that happens outside of the classroom. We can do this through our Balanced Man Program, which helps brothers on their individual journey through our four development stages: Sigma, Phi, Epsilon, and Brother Mentors. As you meet our members, you will understand that we embody our Founding Fathers’ mission for this fraternity. That this Fraternity WILL be different. In doing so, we have won Chapter of the Year for the last three years, been recognized as one of three premier student organization out of all 300+ MSU student organizations, have raised over $160,000 for numerous philanthropic causes in the past year alone, and are consistently among the top in community service hours and service learning opportunities. This brotherhood, being the largest on campus, will push you forward, prepare you for a successful and healthy life after college with numerous powerful and helpful alumni networks, and develop you into a Servant Leader.
